CareAdvance Provider® Tool Expanding to Commercial Business on April 20

Our new electronic preauthorization tool, CareAdvance Provider, will be used to request authorizations for our members with commercial coverage as of April 20, 2020. This includes: traditional indemnity, HMO, PPO, EPO and point-of-service products.

Discontinuation of Paper Notification of Claim Billing Errors Effective April 4

Effective April 4, 2020, Excellus BlueCross BlueShield will discontinue its practice of sending a paper notification when certain billing errors occur. This change is part of our overall effort to reduce the amount of paper sent to provider practices.
