Philips Respironics Respiratory Recall

Audience: Durable Medical Equipment Providers

As you may be aware, Philips Respironics issued a recall on June 14, 2021 for specific continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) and bilevel positive airway pressure (BiPAP) devices, and mechanical ventilators.

Suppliers of impacted devices should work with their Philips Respironics sales representative to obtain replacement products for their patients. Visit the Philips Respironics website to register and receive additional product and recall information.

For recalled CPAP and BiPAP devices that are out of warranty, we will not cover device replacements that are for recall purposes only. We will cover replacements due to malfunctioning in accordance with medical policy 1.01.06 (Positive Airway Pressure Devices: CPAP, BiPAP, APAP and Noninvasive Positive Pressure Ventilators) or Local Coverage Determination (LCD) L33718 Continuous Positive Airway Pressure.

You can access our medical policies on our website.
