Medicare Advantage Hearing Aid Benefit Update

Audience: Audiologists, Hearing Aid vendors

We are pleased to share important news regarding our Medicare Advantage hearing aid benefit. All Medicare Advantage members now have a $0 copayment for routine hearing exams. Additionally, all members can purchase hearing aids in-network for a new, lower copayment of $499 or $799 per hearing aid (depending on the model selected) through our business arrangement with TruHearing™.

TruHearing’s network of participating audiologists and hearing aid dispensers are the exclusive in-network providers for this benefit.

If you are not currently contracted as a provider with TruHearing, you can join TruHearing’s provider network to be able to be reimbursed for a routine hearing exam and to dispense hearing aids to our Medicare Advantage members. To begin the credentialing process, call TruHearing’s Provider Outreach Department at 1-855-286-0550, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. ET.

Please remember that, except for this benefit to our Medicare Advantage members, your participating provider agreement with Excellus BlueCross BlueShield continues to apply, and includes all other services provided to this, and the remaining, membership.

If you have questions, please contact your Provider Relations representative.
